Roy plays as a sub in the trumpet section for the Tuesday Night Band occasionally, continuing their tradition of playing music together. James has been playing with the Tuesday Night Band since 2008 and now enjoys playing the 1st trombone part in the band. Trombone

Darlene Sanford

Darlene owns a very successful physiotherapy practice in Lunenburg and still finds time to drive up to Dartmouth for Tuesday Night Band rehearsals. For many years, she also brought her son to play in the band with her, making it a truly family affair. She recently had the Tuesday Night Band play at the reception for her wedding, joining the band on trombone for the final set and sharing a very special vocal solo "Our Love Is Here to Stay" as a surprise for the groom.

John Oliver, trombone, Tuesday Night Band

Trombone

John Oliver

John Oliver's early interest in music was as a chorister, coming to the trombone later in life, and now enjoys playing 3rd Trombone in the Band. He is one of the original members of the Band, which was formed by members of another local Band that rehearsed in a school and was therefore shut down for the summer and other holidays; they wanted to play all year round. As a Mechanical Engineer in the fields of Engineering Research and Aero-Space, he does not consider himself as a true "musician." However the help and guidance of other musicians within the Band have allowed him to take part, except for a few diversions, every Tuesday night. His other function with the Band is Treasurer, and he has been keeping financial records since October 1987.
